$55 for a Potato? Maybe if You are Totally Baked...

amd_potato[1].jpg

A new lunch joint in NYC's Flatiron district is banking on customers wanting more than the typical cheddar & bacon bit toppings for their baked potatoes.

Totally Baked, on W 18th Street, specializes in 14oz baked Yukon Gold and Idaho potatoes served with an array of gourmet toppings. BBQ Brisket, Pulled Pork, Creamed Spinach, and Manchego Cheese are just a few of the many delectable ingredients on offer. Most potatoes range in price from $7 - $11, and include a side salad. Also available are dessert topped sweet potatoes, potato soups, and sweet potato ice cream.

Perhaps the most talked about menu item, however, is the Famous Truffle. Soaked in truffle butter, drizzled with truffle oil, sprinkled with truffle salt, and topped, of course with shaved truffle. Did we mention it has truffles? At $55, you might want to save this one for the corporate Amex.
