A Sad Farewell to a Neighborhood Fave - Cafe Le Figaro

I am saddened to report that we have it on high authority (via Vanishing New York and Eater), that Greenwich Village's Cafe Le Figaro is no more. Reports are in that the back space has been leased to a bank, and that the search is on to fill the front space with a smaller restaurant. Check out the photo below (from Eater) displaying the owners' dismay at the closing of their landmark restaurant.

One request: Could someone please inform my in-laws that their favorite NYC restaurant has shuttered? I just don't have the heart...
