Absinthe is So 2007 - Try a Mangosteen Instead...

mangosteen-fruit[1].jpg

This just in from Southeast Asia! Mangosteens, the long banned fruit from Thailand, are once again hitting American produce aisles, and at a far more reasonable price than last year. While certainly not cheap, the previously outlawed fruit has been seen in NYC for $6 per piece, and as low as $4 a piece at supermarkets in NJ.

Irradiated from the harmful bugs once believed to burrow in the fruit, mangosteens are being spotted in everything from smoothies to yogurt topping. Mangosteen Martini anyone?
