Burger Haute Cuisine - The $175 Burger at the Wall Street Burger Shoppe

amd_burger.jpg

Only in New York can a $55 baked potato suddenly look like a bargain...

The Wall Street Burger Shoppe, 30 Water Street, Manhattan, is now officially the home of the world's priciest burger, reports the Daily News.

Ground Kobe beef, shaved fresh truffles, seared foie gras, real gold flakes, and aged Gruyere cheese make up the Richard Nouveau Burger, named for the fictional bachelor mascot of website PocketChange. "Its kind of a work of art," Burger Shoppe owner Heather Tierney tells the Daily News. Tell that to the Wall Street fat cats who have been dropping $175 on the decadent burger nightly.

The high price tag includes a side of truffled mayo - but if you want fries, that'll be an extra $5. Hey...there is a recession out there, after all.
