E. Coli Cases Traced to Whole Foods Ground Beef

whole-foods.jpg

"Massachusetts health authorities are warning consumers not to eat ground beef bought from Whole Foods Markets over the last two months after seven infections have been linked to meat bought there, some after a national recall." - boston.com

Consumers have been advised to dispose of any ground beef purchased at Whole Foods between June 2nd and August 6th, including that from the meat counter, or the store's packaged meat cooler. Freezers should also be checked for meats that may have been purchased at that time and frozen for later use.

FYI: Beef cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F is safe to eat - the heat kills the sometimes deadly bacteria.
