Park Slopers are no strangers to gourmet shops. Recent years have seen the openings of local faves Blue Apron, Grab and Union Market (its new second location opened last month.) While you may not have to wheel your MacLaren stroller more than a few steps in Park Slope before stumbling upon a purveyor of quality foods (even the neighborhood Key Food supermarket has a surprisingly impressive selection of olive oils and fresh produce), our favorite is still the spot that many consider to be the first international gourmet market to call Park Slope home. D’Vine Taste, on 7th Avenue between Garfield and Carroll, offers the Slope’s denizens a dizzying array of Middle Eastern and International goods, including Sahadi’s-style hummus, imported pastas and sauces, reasonably priced loose spices and flours, and a cheese counter that could rival Zabar’s.

Owner Nalie Elsebaie and her brothers, all hailing from Lebanon, took over the neighboring 99 cent store over a year ago, and the expansion offers shoppers even more in the way of high-end beers, prepared foods (like the out-of-this-world lamb or spinach pies), Fair Trade coffees and a fantastic olive and salads selection. Service is quirky but genuine, and the staff will eagerly run to the backroom to fetch items that are not on display. We’ve been asked more than once what we plan to make with our basket of goodies, and have received helpful tips on storing and preparing our finds.

We particularly love watching the Elsebaie brothers crafting Lebanese dried-fig cake creations in the window – the Easter season sees the storefront lined with fig, nut and dried fruit bunnies.

First I'd like to say that they are not Elsebaie's. There names are Salem. They are fraudulantly using my families last name as this woman has been divorced. She should not using be using this last name nor should HER brothers!!! Please remove or edit this article as I will take this up in court if not done. Thank you!
