T5 - The New Gourmet Jet Blue Terminal - is Ready for Take Off

url.jpg

The last time I flew Jet Blue out of JFK, my husband and I ate a hot dog and a milkshake for breakfast in the airline's scrubby, well-worn terminal. If only we had waited a few more weeks to fly...

T5, the long-anticipated new gourmet terminal at New York's JFK opened today. Featured are a slew of new eateries helmed by some big-name chefs, as well as a computerized system at departure gates which allows passengers to order meals to be packed and ready to go for in-flight dining. Some of the new restaurants:

Deep Blue: Sushi from Buddakan's Michael Schulson

Aeronuova: "Futuristic" Italian from Mark Ladner, a Batali protege who cooked at Otto, Lupa and Del Posto

La Vie: French brasserie from Lee Hanson of Balthazaar and Pastis
