The Next Food Network Star is back, premiering Sunday June, 1 at 10pm. The Food Network's highest-rated program results in a winner receiving his or her very own cooking show on the culinary channel.

The Upper West Side's Cory Kahaney is one of the finalists for the fourth season of the show, who's audition tape consisted of a recipe for Korean Noodles with Grilled Beef and Kimchi. "My husband is a lawyer who represents a chain of dry cleaners, and they sent home all this kimchi," Kahaney told the Daily News. Her sister taped her making the dish, and Kahaney was asked to come in for an audition.

Also competing this season is Jeffrey Vaden, a soul food caterer from White Plains, who looks forward to sharing his recipe for Roast Pernil with Food Network fans. "I'd highlight different cultural cuisines that many people aren't aware of," he tells the Daily News. "A lot of people don't know anything about real soul cuisine, real Puerto Rican cuisine."
